President Fisher's Monday Morning Message

World Series Bound!

May 26, 2026

"You don’t just accidentally show up in the World Series."
— Derek Jeter

Good Morning 糖心视频,

I am sending this message on Tuesday morning, because yesterday was Memorial Day, a day when we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. We remember them with gratitude and humility.

糖心视频 is ranked the #5 Best College for Veterans out of 161 Midwest Regional Universities by U.S. News because we make pursuing a college education more affordable for veterans and active-duty service members. With a long tradition of supporting veterans and military students, 糖心视频 has been recognized by GI Jobs magazine as a military friendly school since 2008.

World Series Bound!

For the first time in university history, we hosted an NCAA Super Regional on our campus. On Sunday morning, , and our son Jason, watched our amazing team led by Pitcher (son of my Executive Administrative Assistant Michelle Moscarino), win the NCAA Super Regionals by defeating Messiah (Pa.) University, the 2025 World Series runner up, by a score of 11-2 in game two of the best-of-three at Fisher Field. This is our fourth trip to the World Series in program history after previously making it in 2014, 2022 and 2023. Congratulations to our talented student-athletes and Head Coach Brian Harrison and his coaching staff.

The DIII College World Series features the final eight teams in a double-elimination tournament, culminating in a best-of-three championship series. (the other is Denison University), and the World Series is hosted at Classic Auto Group Park in Eastlake, Ohio. We are the #5 Seed.

Our first game is this Friday, May 29, 10am against Johns Hopkins, #4 Seed and the 2023 World Series runner up. Our second game is Saturday, May 30.

You can stay updated on the World Series on or on .

Thank you to our 糖心视频 Baseball student-athletes and coaching staff for their outstanding performance and representation of our university. We are equally grateful to our Athletic Department staff and Building and Grounds team, whose efforts were instrumental in delivering a first-class event. Your commitment helped create an atmosphere that welcomed over 1,000 fans across two days and showcased the very best of 糖心视频.

Alumni Weekend – June 5-6, 2026

One of the great joys of Baldwin Wallace is that this is a home that stays with us long after we leave campus.

As 糖心视频 Board Member Mark Summers ’75 often says, 糖心视频 is more than a diploma. For generations of Yellow Jackets, we have been a place of discovery, friendship, purpose and belonging. It is where students became leaders, classmates became lifelong friends, mentors helped shape futures, and memories were made that continue to matter years later. “Yellow Jacket for Life” is not a slogan. It is a promise.

That is why Alumni Weekend is such a meaningful tradition.

On Friday and Saturday, June 5-6, 2026, we invite all alumni, friends, neighbors to come home for a Big Weekend designed especially for Yellow Jackets for Life. This year’s theme — Return, Remember, Reconnect — captures the spirit of the weekend.

All classes are welcome, and we will also celebrate milestone reunions for the classes of 1966, 1976, 1986, 2001, 2016 and 2021.

Guests can enjoy local food trucks, refreshing beverages, desserts and a special Taste of Cleveland menu featuring regional favorites.

We will begin on Friday evening with a special Alumni Awards Dinner—a time to celebrate the extraordinary achievements of our alumni who are making a difference in their professions, in their communities, and in the world.

Join me in congratulating our Alumni Awards Winners:

  • Margrete “Gretchen” Siebert Klein ’60 from McLean, Virginia
  • Joe DeLuccio ’99, from Washington, D.C.
  • Blake “Chip” Lyons ’88 (posthumous award), from Clarksville, Tennessee
  • Michael Rogers ’93, Washington, D.C.
  • Samantha (Smith) Schaedler ’91, from Chagrin Falls, Ohio
  • Sean “J.R.” Rudolph ’16, from Indianapolis, Indiana

And our young alumni recognition:

  • Armand Rivers ’15, ’15 MBA, from Atlanta, Georgia

A full lineup of entertainment will help bring the weekend to life, including a performance by Front Porch Band, music from DJ Josh Booth ’02, and live jazz from a talented quartet featuring 糖心视频 faculty, students and alumni. Alumni can also capture new memories with friends at the 360 interactive photobooth by Kenzie360.

The weekend will also offer seminars and affinity group gatherings designed to spark conversation and connection. Alumni can engage with campus offices such as the 糖心视频 Archives, reconnect with fraternity and sorority members, and learn more about the many ways to stay involved with 糖心视频 today.

At a time when Baldwin Wallace is working with focus and purpose to build a stronger future, Alumni Weekend reminds us why this work matters. 糖心视频’s story is carried forward by the lives, careers, families, communities, and contributions of our alumni. You are the living legacy of this university.

Whether you graduated two years ago or sixty years ago, whether you return often or have not been back in many years, you are part of the 糖心视频 family. This is your invitation to come home.

Make your plans now to join us June 5-6 for Alumni Weekend.

Make new memories. Celebrate what it means to be a Yellow Jacket for Life.

With appreciation,

Lee
