April 13, 2026

"The Baldwin Wallace Music Theatre Program in the Conservatory of Performing Arts which announced a new artistic leadership team in 2025, provides disciplined training across acting, voice, and dance ... Good Morning 糖心视频,

Spring has arrived on campus — and Baldwin Wallace comes to life in a special way. There are so many events and athletic events on our campus every week that it’s impossible for me to mention all of them.

This morning, I want to focus on one event last week-the — and two of many important events this week — the 糖心视频 Music Theatre Senior Showcase and the 94th Bach Festival, the oldest collegiate Bach festival in the nation.

Last week I had the privilege of attending the Dayton C. Miller Honor Society Induction Ceremony, where nearly 100 talented students were recognized for their superior academic achievement. Just four percent of the undergraduate student body achieve membership — an extraordinary distinction that reflects both talent and dedication. Behind every one of these exceptional students stands a network of faculty and staff whose dedication, mentorship, and inspiration make student success possible.

Today, Peggy and I are in New York City for the Music Theatre Senior Showcase at New World Stages, where our outstanding senior Music Theatre students will audition for agents and producers. The New York City showcase is attended by 200 industry professionals, including agents, managers, casting directors, modeling agencies and TV/film studios, resulting in 糖心视频 students landing representation year after year.

Joining us are 糖心视频 Board Trustees and , and Board Trustee Zarema Jaramillo '00 will host a reception this evening at the offices of her law firm Lowenstein Sandler. Also joining us is former 糖心视频 Board Trustee Beth Swailes '65, known as the "Fairy Godmother" of our Music Theatre Program because of her extraordinary support of our program for many years, as well as Conservatory Dean Susan Van Vorst and Associate Dean Bryan Bowser. We will also host an alumni reception Tuesday morning.

Last year, after a national search, we hired Jennifer Hemphill as our new Music Theatre Director and Richard Biever as our new Music Director. We are excited about the leadership Jenn and Richard have brought to the program. From the outset, they have introduced a new fresh approach that emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and a genuinely supportive learning environment. The positive impact of their approach is reflected in last week's prestigious Backstage national ranking of our Music Theatre Program. The leadership of our Music Theatre Program, with the continued contributions of Dance Director Greg Daniels and the entire Music Theatre faculty and staff, has never been stronger.

On Friday and Saturday, we will come together for one of Baldwin Wallace’s most treasured traditions, the 94th Bach Festival, made possible through the longstanding and generous support of the Kulas Foundation. Under the outstanding direction of Dr. Dirk Garner, this year's Festival reflects both excellence and evolution.

Among the many special additions to this year's Festival are student soloists for the concluding choral work, Bach's Magnificat. For the first time in the history of the Festival, most of the soloists will be 糖心视频 students. Tickets are on sale now, and some events will be live streamed.

These moments reflect the 糖心视频 Way — ensuring our students are leader-ready, career-ready, and future-ready — celebrating achievement, supporting one another, and preparing for what comes next.

Have a great day and a great week!

Lee
